Effectiveness of Percutaneous Pedicle Screw Fixation for Traumatic Thoracolumbar Spine Fracture

نویسندگان

چکیده

Introduction: Surgical treatment of thoracolumbar fracture without neurological damage has resulted in better clinical and radiological outcome than conservative treatment. Traditional open approach is associated with extensive paravertebral muscle postoperative morbidity so percutaneous pedicle screw fixation highly valuable alternatives.
Aims: to evaluate the efficacy traumatic deficit.
Methods: This study was conducted Nepalgunj Medical College, a time span one year; total 40 patients were included treated followed up for 6months. They evaluated clinically radiologically.
Results: fractures managed mean operative 77.30 min intraoperative blood loss 88.38ml. There significant improvement cobb’s angle (mean difference 13.92 degree), vertebral body height 37.7%) visual analogue scale 3.55) postoperatively. These improvements remained statically at 6months follow up.
Conclusion: Percutaneous safe, valid effective deficit.

Minimally Invasive Mini Open Split-Muscular Percutaneous Pedicle Screw Fixation of the Thoracolumbar Spine

We prospectively assessed the feasibility and safety of a new percutaneous pedicle screw (PPS) fixation technique for instrumentation of the thoracic and lumbar spine in this study. All patients were operated in the prone position under general anesthesia. A 6 to 8 cm midline skin incision was made and wide subcutaneous dissection was performed. The paravertebral muscles were first dissected su...

Effects of percutaneous kyphoplasty combined with pedicle screw fixation on aged osteoporotic thoracolumbar burst fracture

This study aimed to explore the clinical effects of percutaneous kyphoplasty combined with pedicle screw fixation on aged osteoporotic thoracolumbar burst fracture. 160 patients with aged osteoporotic thoracolumbar burst fracture treated at our hospital during January 2012 and January 2015 were enrolled. According to the digital meter method, they were randomly divided into two groups, the obse...

Pedicle screw fixation combined with intermediate screw at the fracture level for treatment of thoracolumbar fractures

BACKGROUND Use of a pedicle screw at the level of fracture, also known as an intermediate screw, has been shown to improve clinical results in managing thoracolumbar(TL) fractures, but there is a paucity of powerful evidence to support the claim. The aim of this study was to compare outcomes between pedicle screw fixation combined with intermediate screw at the fracture level and conventional p...

Biomechanical Analysis of Pedicle Screw Fixation for Thoracolumbar Burst Fractures.

Treatment of unstable thoracolumbar burst fractures remains controversial. Long-segment pedicle screw constructs may be stiffer and impart greater forces on adjacent segments compared with short-segment constructs, which may affect clinical performance and long-term out come. The purpose of this study was to biomechanically evaluate long-segment posterior pedicle screw fixation (LSPF) vs short-...
